The Delta Scholars Program is designed to set a standard of culture, class and confidence in the setting of Altholton, Centennial, Glenelg, Long Reach, Oakland Mills, Reservoir, River Hill, and Wilde Lake high schools. The program was formed in 2008 as the result of a partnership between Oakland Mills High School and the Columbia (MD) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. The overall goal of the Delta Scholars program is to promote continued academic excellence in young ladies and provide mentoring support through the women of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.- successful members of the community who conduct workshops and help prepare Delta Scholars for success both during and after high school.
Delta Scholars also have opportunities to develop leadership skills through the various projects, events, and community service that the program conducts throughout the year.
At the eight Howard County high schools hosting a Delta Scholars program, we are proud of the high standards the program has set for individuals in their schools and school communities.
